Construction Fire Safety Coalition Expands Access to CFS Checklist
New web-based version of the CFS Checklist offers new way to ensure code compliance
The Construction Fire Safety Coalition (CFSC) announced a new web-based version of its fire safety inspection checklist, giving construction crews, safety managers, and fire officials another way to complete the daily jobsite fire inspection required under the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC).
The interactive checklist, initially launched as a mobile app, is now also fully integrated into constructionfiresafety.org. Users can walk through the same guided inspection directly in a browser, with no download required, and generate a ready-to-file PDF report at the end of the process.
“Our mobile app has always given crews an easy way to run their daily fire inspection right from the field,” said Ray O’Brocki, AWC’s Director of Fire Service Engagement. “The web option gives site teams more flexibility to complete that same inspection when it’s more convenient, from a site trailer laptop, a shared device, or anywhere else the app isn’t the right fit. Whichever way someone gets it done, we want that daily fire check to be as easily and straightforward as possible.”
Construction site fires remain one of the most preventable, and costly, risks in construction, which is what led CFSC to design and launch an interactive app to help meet the needs of the fire service and construction crews on the ground. The new web addition builds on the initial app, expanding how users can access the checklist with all the same functionality found in the app.
Both the app and the web-based checklist have the same goal: make it as easy as possible for every site to complete its daily fire check and minimize the risk of site fires.
The CFSC app remains available for download on the App Store . The web-based checklist is available now at constructionfiresafety.org.
